Malegra 120 is a higher-dose form of sildenafil citrate, used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED) in adult men who do not respond adequately to lower doses such as 50 mg or 100 mg. It works by inhibiting the enzyme phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5), which increases levels of cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP). This causes relaxation of smooth muscles in the corpus cavernosum of the penis, allowing increased blood flow during sexual stimulation. As a result, it helps achieve and maintain an erection, but only when sexual arousal is present.
